Hotel Anteroom Kyoto, Kyoto

The hotel rooms were surprisingly large compared to other Japanese standards, very comfortable with a mini living room feel due to the sofa provided. However, there was no hygiene kit available. The service was accommodating and friendly despite some difficulty with English. The location was a bit inconvenient being a little off from the subway stations. The dining offered a great variety of fresh and delicious buffet style options. Overall, a comfortable stay with minor inconveniences.

During my stay in Japan, the hotel had everything that was needed. The rooms were beautifully furnished, had art on the walls, and were set up very cleverly - a perfect fit for small accommodations common in Japan. The rooms were well-decorated, comfortable, and had excellent sound isolation, even though our room was right in front of the elevator, we didn't hear any noise coming from it. However, being near the subway required a 10-minute walk, and by 8:30, many vegetarian breakfast dish options were empty and not replenished.

The hotel offers more space than the average room and is well organized to maximize the space available. It's like having a mini living room inside your hotel room. The staff were cheery and so helpful, especially in filling out the luggage shipping form. The location is nice and quiet, making it perfect for accessing everything the city has to offer, but can be a bit far if you walk from the station. The dining experience is outstanding, with lots of veggie/vegan options catering to Japanese tastes. The facilities were straightforward with everything needed available.

I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and sound isolation of the rooms, especially since our room was right in front of the elevator. The only downside was that the room wasn't very warm even with the AC on. Given the location in Japan, particularly in Kyoto, my expectations weren't high.
